A little while ago I came home to find a very large package laying at my doorstep that ASUS had sent me........

I was going to originally use my RE2 for this bench session but unfortunately the long months of constantly beating my board with bench sessions took it's toll on it and I am currently in the process of getting a new one. For this bench session I used the following setup(Thanks to ASUS for the P6t7:up: )
ASUS P6T7 Supercomputer
W3570 Retail batch#3846A803
Kingston HyperX 3x2GB PC316000 CL8 Model #: KHX2000C8D3T1K3/6GX
ASUS MARS 295 (Quad SLI) 186.18
Ultra X3 1600w PSU
Before I ran any serious benches I tested clocks/temps on the cards to see what I was dealing with. At stock clocks of 648/1152/1476 I was seeing idling temps of 48 degrees Celsius and load temps in Vantage of around high 70's. This was with the fans on at 100% in a caseless setup and fans on top and I must say they are much quieter than one would assume when initially looking at these monstrous cards. Pushing the clocks on stock volts to 736/1251/1676 I was seeing idling temps of 55 degrees Celsius and loads in to the high 80's. While these temps were acceptable considering the power draw of these cards I used a little basic temp control 101 replacing the TIM on the GPU's that brought the idling back down to 50 idle/low 80's load at 736/1251/1676.
Now on to the benches......

You too seeing the trend here?:baffled:
No matter what OS I used from my custom ones to outright full untouched retail versions of Windows7 and Vista in all different flavors I kept getting the same results. I had single regular GTX 295's that outperformed these benches by a wide margin.....this has lead me to believe that there are driver issues that are just not working well with these benchmarks as the power that these cards have far exceeds any of the results shown in these older benchmarks.
Now to see how these cards held up in Vantage....

Now that is more like it:D
These cards really shine in Vantage.
These cards are downright nasty there is no denying that. There is honestly no need to even overclock them as they are more than able to handle anything thrown at them straight out of the box. When it comes to real world gaming performance these are truly in a league of their own. These cards were designed for the absolute Xtreme benching/gaming enthusiast in mind.
ASUS has pushed the envelope in regards to their consistent innovation in design with cards like these that helps create competitors pursuits that in the end benefit us the enthusiast.
I was very fortunate to have ASUS send them to me to play around with which I want to give them a BIG THANKS for this and everything else they have done.....they definitely go above and beyond:up:
