Nothing pretty here as I have long ago gone "caseless". Think I will post an evolution of my OCing rigs...

This DD WaterBox is where my OCing venture began in earnest. What a nightmare! It was a pita to put together and to be candid was the catalyst for my future "caseless" builds. It sure was flashy and did produce results but it was like performing open heart surgery just to swap a video card. On a positive note, the results and my determination led to an invite to NBOC hwbot team where I reside to this day. At the time it held a Evga 758 X58 with a 920 CO.

Prehistoric cooling...

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/DSC00037.jpg

From there I progressed to my first true bench rig.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/DSC00051.jpg

Ooo baby! Thought I was really high teching now. Note the "custom" chiller I have going on.

The above was a much needed improvement but I was on a quest now. It led to the incarnation of the "DoubleDoowieGigantunourmousTortureRack". :) I designed a little chilled water set-up that I thought was the cat's meow.
I was bringing a cooler of ice home every evening. :D

Well, you know how it goes...always looking for that magic bullet. Finally bit it and had sdumper build me a SS phase unit. Made a huge difference in my daily bench sessions (no more ice to deal with or water to pour out after every bench). ;) Upgraded to a Classified mb and PC Power & Cooling 1200w psu while I was at it. With the addition of a 965XE/950 DO/920 DO selection of chips, this is where the bench rig is at the moment.
I was in a hurry to get it up and running so I used a cardboard "Cuisinart" box to set the phase unit on. It was aptly named the "Cuisinart" by fellow NBOC members lol.

We all got a laugh out of this when I pointed it out...

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/DSC00134.jpg

Alas, the Cuisinart could not stand up to the pressure and I had to build another base. She will be sadly missed...

A recent addition to the family is this dedicated game rig I just completed. I am stoked because it runs so fine. It holds the original 758 X58 mb with the 965 (which may be swapped for the 920 DO eventually for heat issues) and two Zotac 8800 GT's.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/DSC00189.jpg

You knew I could'nt resist benching it at least once...:D

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq69/rickss69/ScreenHunter_02Sep070026.jpg

Upcoming events...I will be building a 24/7 pc using the Evga LE version mb. That will put me completely i7...Bencher/Gamer/Everyday pc. I may re-use that DD WaterBox for the 24/7...I cringe thinking about it, but I hate to see it sitting in the corner gathering dust.

And I really need to get my butt in gear for this...

RickSster, are you able to reckognize that you have a problem?
Some call it Bencheritus while others name it Overclockaholism. :headshake:
Either way, I have great news, you're condition appears terminal.

Thx guys - I know there is no help for me...I am mainstream underground now lol. I consider myself normal and everyone else a little off center...is that a sign? :D

Great pics and write up! Thanks for sharing man. I really like the dangerbox, flashy build

Your bench tables you build are nice too! Any chance you have a build log of those?

Thx guys - I really didnt do a log on that double torture rack...just something I threw together. I have since donated it to WitchDoctor over at NBOC, so there is a good chance you will see it again soon.

In the process of resurrecting the DD WaterBox at the moment. It will house my 24/7 set-up with a X58 SLI LE and to be determined chip. It will not be the "Hippie Borg Cube" it once was tho lol. I will post some pics as it goes together.

Karma - If you are referring to this one, I just picked up some 3/8" lexan, 3/8" all thread rod and assorted flange nuts. I threaded the lexan to make the rack even sturdier but it made it a pita to put together. The other torture rack I forget the manufacturer but it appears to be the same one Vince is using in his photo's...

You have some really nice stuff there!!! Although I'm curious as to what is in your garage, is it a 69 Camaro SS? That would be my first guess; or is it a Chevelle? or am I completely wrong.

Just a truck now Vas, but you were on the right track. The last auto that was in there was a 1969 SS Camaro B/S Stock Eliminator... ;)

Something I started toying with this weekend. Been a long time since I've had hands on with AMD.
