Experiencing some weird issues setting voltage on 2 of my 670's.

Anytime I set core voltage higher than 1.5 they won't boot into windows.

Can't seem to get around it... Any tips?

Is bootup & eventual vcore set at the same? or differentiated.

If not, try to set a lower value at bootup vcore and keep 1.5 at eventual vcore.

Already tried that... It seems as if the board is not working correctly.. Going to try it in a Gigabyte board I have next to see if it works correctly.

1: What is the max value you can POST with? (both bootup and eventual vcore)

2: Are the value and or values you can use changing with the CPUs or completely identical among your i5 670s?

3: What happens if you update/reflash your BIOS or try to use the other two BIOSes on the board.

I tried two different 670's.

The first 670 was able to post originally then stopped and now it won't boot up with anything more than 1.6.

The second 670 did the same thing.. I was originally able to boot up with higher voltages and now I can't anymore..

I acciedentally messed up a couple pins switching them... had a moment.. looks like I won't find out if it was really the board.. One of the pins fell out. Just my luck.. thank goodness for my x58 classy is coming tomorrow.. I am tired of P55 bs...

I might just go buy the gigabyte ud7 board to finish off playing.. I have had such bad lock with the EVGA board... I originally had 2 bad boards mailed to me..

Thank goodness I have a good retail chip to test.

Thanks for the posts Oliver

Sounds like you burnt the cmos chip. Check the bios chip the little circle should be towards the bottom edge of the board.

Honestly it won't even light up the post screen... Can't even tell where it burnt up... Looked all over... I am real over evga boards.. starting to drive me nuts... Can't even get a damn bench session in....

THC and I did not get any POST codes ..

Talked with Sam, he had similar problem (x-cool), he said he did not rememer. But a random order of VGA/Memory did it for him. We tried different VGA in different PCI-E slots and it works flawlessly now.

Altougth not vcore related problem, but if not you can give it a try ..

Peace & good weekend man

Fixed some pins.. still missing one.. Put in 1 670 ES and it was only able to go to 1.55 volts on air.. anymore would freeze right away. Put in 2nd 670 ES and it would only to 1.45 on air. Then I tried a retail 660 I have, and it would do 1.65 on air.

So then I broke out the LN2, kicked up the 660 to 1.85 eventual volts and other settings of course... had 25 multiplier with 1 core enabled and found the cold but at -128.
Turned on hyperthreading and the coldbug went to -130, but then the board would never come back up. even hours later. Always stops at 13..

I ordered the gigabyte, going to rma this board and play with the gigabyte board for now.. getting way too frustrating..
