'Oc-windforce over at Kingpin cooling has taken a intel Ivy Bridge i7 3770k sample to a huge 6.2Ghz on liquid nitrogen using a MSI Z77A-GD65 and 4Gb of GSKILL DDR3 2000 CL6 running at a crazy 2316mhz! Also he picked up a PiFast world record at 11.77 seconds but needed a savage 1.77v to get there. It is reported this chip has zero cold bug nor cold boot bug so overclockers can rejoice, finally some real good chips coming our way. It is also noted that this 3770k was a chip from a bad batch and couldnt hit 5ghz without 1.42v on air, this to us means there will be some very big overclocks when we see good batches rolled out. 11.77s isn't the world record These chips are also very tolerant to high voltage and just continue scaling - we'll be seeing much higher voltages than people out through their older i7s (first or second generation)
