I have a similar problem. My 680gtx will not work in pcie#1 but fine in #2 or #3.

However, my Msi 460 does work normaly in slot #1. I've verified this 3-4 times.

Gotta be something with the slot and 680 pin connection. Also checked and reseated

the cpu 3-4 times. Very hard to fit those 2011 pins against the cpu pads. Some are too close to the pad edges.

I'll try some more experimenting today,,,,don't like loosing the #1 pcie slot at all with this new card.
