it's going about the bios versions that westmere doesn't work, and with Gulftown it does momentairly.
everything is Nehalem yes. But now i try to make a difference for explain that westmere doesn't work at this moment on Classified's mobo's. Quote:
just like you have i7 920 and a W3540 (Xeon version) i7 975 and a X3580 (Xeon version).

Page 14.
http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=ht..._WSM_Press.pdf The reason a certain CPU doesn't work in the classified is not because it's a Westmere (which includes Gulftown), but because the Westmere-EP micro codes haven't been added to a new BIOS yet. If Westmere (in the form of Gulftown) works, then there's no reason why Westmere (in the form of Westmere-EP) won't work in the future. |

This is wrong, they're not all Gulftown. They're all Westmere, and Westmere-EP is the xeon version. I'm making a point of this because by calling it Westmere, you might be confusing people into thinking Gulftown isn't supported, which as you know, it is. Anyways, apart from calling it Westmere-EP you're right so I think that should be the end of it and back on-topic for the thread.
