The rule is that you can't change the subtests - replacing codecs to something more efficient would be like changing the fireflys in 3dmark for example so they don't need so much horsepower. Or replacing the slow superpi engine with something faster. Does that sound like a fair thing to do?

Plus, AFAIK FM don't like like this type of tweaks either.

This is just general stuff, no idea what this particular tweak does.

of course you cant replace or edit the benchmark itself,

this is just a few registry values, so i do not see how it is any different than level of detail or adjusting a slider in nvidia control panel...

but hwbot has to of course decide what is legitimate or not for their competition
