Mod @ Classified X58 for Westmere

ok, because i whanted to do the mod, and just for joking i putted it in the Classified without a mod, and it worked just fine, i putted the scores on air on hwbot profile with this X5550.

Now i was looking around here, and then i came across again with this tread for looking for a mod possible for P55 Classified 200 mobo, and thought that i forgot about the X5550 on my classified E762

Sry, I got distracted and didn't check the other board. This one runs good with the mod so whatever works. Might get to it this weekend.

Can U help me? Does this mod work on E758 X58 3SLI 1.0 original? Or it must only be sent for refurbishing?

yes it can work, but make sure you have the skills to perform it, you only need one mod actually on that board stead of 2.

So, could you please be more specific which one, first or second so that i wouldn't miss contacts to short and burn a PCB?

Just did a little research on the EVGA site and the board by default supports Westmere x5600's. No Mods needed.

HI, I also have a E758 v1.0 board and would like to run a westmere chip on it. I specifically have the E5620. I am pretty good at soldering but would really like to know where I have to solder to make the motherboard compatible with this chip. And also, will it still be backwards compatible with my i7 920 after the mod?

and yes you're 920 will still work after the mod.

I don't see the mod for the E758 though. Those are for the E759, E760, and E762. I tried to find the location above the socket on my E758 v1.0 but it is different.
