Default GTX470 a benching Option

Bored @ weekend so messed with a GTX470, really good overclocker, around a 13xx 5870 in vantage:

First off the ram clock is real promising, but even better than the "midrange" card can produce numbers like these.

What's interesting here is the fact that you can run 4G SR-2 and still aim for 30k Vantage .

it was interesting to see how the fps differed in parts of GT against a gtx480 at same speeds, the opening peak of GT1 is definitely higher on 480, but when the 2 guards come together and talk the fps was the same. The opening of GT2 was the same with 480 too but second scene was definitely close to 10fps behind.

i need to learn how to make the clock profile switching with precision, some parts of GT are so easy while some are just killa, especially that GT2 missile launch

The difference in #shaders isn't that big, so in hindsight it's not that strange.

Is the PCB of the GTX470 similar to the one of the GTX480? What about the used memory chips? Is Nvidia allowing vendors to customize the GTX470 card more than the GTX480?

0.5ns samsung, stead of 0.4ns on 480. i think both 470 or 480 can be customized

Just lower binned memory or different memory characteristics?
