Default Musician thread

Do we have any musicians in the forums?

Ive been around musicians all my life. Dad is bassist, guitarist, soundman, songwriter. Uncle is drummer, guitarist, songwriter. I can do all of the above except i pretty much just play guitar these days since i dont have a place to play my drums.

Ive been playing guitar for about 8 years. As long as ive been messing around seriously with computers.

Here is my current rig with my Gibson Flying V.

1986 Randall RGT100ES resto hot rodded (power section redo) all matching Groove Tubes Distortion 7
Old as crusty balls Legend 21
Bad Horsie 2 Steve Vai Morley Wah
Old as crusty balls Tuner
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone

I dont have my baby in the pic because she is out of commission right now until i can afford to replace her neck. She fell off the stand last week and the neck crack at a 90 degree angle all the way through right at the headstock. Tears where shed, and lots of Scotch consumed. Moving along to my drums

This picture was taken on stage at the Ridglea Theater. 93.3 The Bone rented my set for the night and i didnt have any complains from the drummers lol.

Pretty much i can name off my drums and what all i have but i have over 20 pieces in my arsenal i can use not including cymbals. It was a sad day when i moved outa my parents house and had to tear the beast down. My main set usually consists of 8 pieces. 3 racks, 2 floors, double bass, snare, 2 crashes, ride, china, hi hat, 2 splashes, gong (no seriously). Before i left i had a nice Zyldjian gong that i sold and intended to replace it with a Sabian but decided not to.

Another pic of my set at my friends house. I used some of my older non-valuable cymbals just in case

Hopefully we got some other musicians on here willing to share!

Edit: Large pictures are Large. Resizing

I tried learning piano on my own. Not as easy as learning guitar on my own.

I started learning guitar at the age of 12. By started i mean just pick it up and screw around and nothing serious. At 13 is when i bought me a simple chord and progression book and my dad took note in what i was doing and started teaching me a few simple things like power chords. Thats why i say about 8 years cause really it would be 10 years if we included first tinkering with it. My drive kinda was to play live in a band and to pick up girls....and that wasnt much of a drive at the time. I was to interested in other things like computers at the time.

Now a days i simply do not have the time to actually sit down and properly learn something. I really intend to learn piano when i have the time available. Im actually losing alot of practice and its evident my shredding is getting rusty in that last uploaded video.

I love that kit

I play bass.... 5-strings+ only Have a Schecter Stiletto Custom 5 in dark slate gray and a Vintage V905 in medium blue. Its what I learned on and still use it. If it comes to it, its expendable so dont need to worry about damage.

Stadium Elite 45-135 strings if I can find em.

Vaguely looking into a 5-string acoustic and/or a stick bass

I love watching Victor Wooten videos... but prefer his slower groove stuff, not so keen on his very fast work

I love my kit too lol.

Just got it set up in the living room. Neighbors don't mind so i play a bit during the day. I haven't been able to play them in almost 2 years. I had a pile of black paper towels from all the dust i cleaned off them. I chose great heads though because they weren't even outa tune cept the snare a bit.
