Default E762 + PCS ICs problem

Hi,

i have an E762 + 980X + 3x2gb kit with Powerchip ICs.

ICs are pretty good, can handle 1050MHz 6-9-6 with 1,67v on this platform.

The problem is with the Uncore, all value that is not AUTO on Uncore setting make the board freezee post on 25.

With corsair Dom GT i can use all uncore i wish with no problem...

i have bios 70beta.

any ideas?

Thanks
Filippo

Try setting Uncore to 1.5X DRAM. On AUTO I think it defaults to 2x on most boards using the latest BIOS releases.

I misunderstood your first post. Ok, that is likely a memory issue with some IC's and the Uncore of the processor more than a board level problem (if you've set all the sub-timings manually and eliminated them from the mix). The Hypers are a light capacitive load on the IMC, that's whay they clock "better".

you think it's not a bios issue ?

with hyper i can run 5100+ uncore... with those i am stuck at 1,5X ....

There's not a whole lot the BIOS does for various modules, most of the write levelling stuff is automatic and there's not a great deal of info in SPDs. I'd try setting all the sub-timings manually to various values and see how that affects things.
